The conference is proposed to be co-organised with the Penerbit Ilmiah Malaysia (MAPIM), Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Sarawak, and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) on 11-13 October 2017 in The Waterfront Hotel Kuching, Sarawak and at the same time the BORNEO BOOK FAIR will be at Plaza Merdeka Shopping Mall on 11-15 October.
The collaboration will hopefully provide a greater impact in drawing world wide participations among academics, writers and book industry players who view the Island of Borneo as the spring board for significant creation for content.
The proposed collaboration with MAPIM aims to assess and adding value to the current situation of the book industry in Borneo. Participation among MAPIM’s members signify strength among Malaysia’s academic publishers hence meeting the conference objectives.
To provide a platform for academic content creators, authors and book industry players in exchanging experience, knowledge and ideas through the conduct of forums, presentations and brainstorming sessions.
To encourage academic publication potentiality focusing on Borneo themes in pursuit of advancing knowledge.
To gather resources that will be able to assist high impact academic publication by experiencing the authenticity of Sarawak (as the conference venue) first-hand.
